Vrddhi "To Grow"

70 Hour Advanced Kids & Youth Yoga Teacher Training

Prerequisite: 25 hr Introductory Training

This training is Part 2 of 2 in our complete training. Please note you are not required to take both Part 1 and Part 2 or register for both courses at the same time.

VRDDHI "To Grow" is our Advanced, Level 2 Training which takes place as an immersion over the course of 5 weekends. This training allows individuals to complete their 95hr Registered Children's Yoga Alliance Certification. (Please visit the Yoga Alliance website directly to ensure you understand what is required to apply or contact us directly if you would like to learn more). 

Further your knowledge throughout this deep-dive into the practice of education & wellness for children through yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and more.

The Breakdown

Total Training Hours: 70 hrs​

  • 6 Hours Pre-Requisite Reading & Preparation 

  • 55 In-Class Hours

  • 6 Hours Online Observation of Classes

  • 3 Hours Practicum Teaching (can be recorded & sent in)

  • 8 Hours Allocated to Assignments & Lesson Planning

Learning Objectives

  • Revise the philosophy behind and the purpose of kids & youth yoga as a specialty - why it exists, benefits to children & youth, holistic and 'upstream' approach to health. 

  • How to sequence and structure comprehensive lesson plans. 

  • How to work effectively and in a meaningful way with youth ages 2-16. 

  • Advanced yoga asanas and practice techniques that will allow you to build lesson plans that are custom to your student’s developmental needs. 

  • Learn how to work within specific settings and with particular demographics & populations to foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. (adaptive needs, athletes, one on one etc.) 

  • Strengthen your own voice and skills as a teacher and become more confident in delivering programming. 

  • Learn about the neuroscience behind mindfulness and ways in which we can specifically incorporate this practice into different settings- at home, in the classroom, and in other environments

  • Find your WHY and understand how to make your teaching practice sustainable. 

  • Learn about yoga-based tips and tools that build a 'tool box' for wellbeing and mental health.

  • Learn advanced adjustments and techniques so that you can adapt your teaching style based on the group of individuals you are working with.

  • Learn about Trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) 

  • Explore your own practice and develop your skills as a practitioner so that you are able to speak confidently and from an embodied place. As we say: “practice what you teach!”
