World Teen Mental Wellness Day

World Teen Mental Wellness Day is on March 2, 2022. This day aims to raise awareness about mental health issues among teens as well as provide education about removing the stigma surrounding mental health.

Did you know that an estimated 1.2 million children and youth in Canada are affected by mental illness? By age 25, approximately 20% of Canadians will have developed a mental illness, according to Youth Mental Health Canada.

In addition, 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence.

Most people's teenage years can probably be remembered as… a bit of a rollercoaster, to say the least. Throw in a pandemic into the mix where teens' sense of normality and important rites of passage have been disrupted–mental health awareness feels more important than ever.

Here at Wymbin, our aim is to raise a future generation of confident, kind, and empowered humans and it all starts with planting a seed. We do this by incorporating mindfulness and movement into all that we do–offering sunlight and water these seeds require to bloom.

On Saturday March, 5, 2022, we will be hosting an event in collaboration with Junction 9 to recognize World Teen Mental Wellness Day.

We invite you to immerse yourself in a wellness experience, normalize conversations and dismantle stigmas around teen mental health. This is your place to connect with new friends, reflect in your journal, meditate and move with us through the practice of yoga. Expect snacks, kombucha + some extra special surprises along the way!
